Letter: Hosein right choice for regent

The University of Nebraska deserves a regent who understands its mission and has firsthand experience with the challenges students and families face. Dr. Jeremy Hosein attended UNL, earned his medical degree at UNMC and served as a Student Regent. He has also advised Nebraska governors, served as a White House Fellow and built a career caring for patients as a neurosurgeon.

Jeremy’s priorities include student success, strong academics, affordable tuition and preparing graduates for Nebraska’s workforce. He understands that university resources must be managed carefully to protect the institution’s long-term strength. He has earned support from current and former Regents, including student Regents, whose experience gives them a close understanding of the board’s responsibilities.

The university helped open doors for Jeremy, and he wants future generations of Nebraska students to have those same opportunities. On Nov. 3, I’ll be voting for Dr. Jeremy Hosein for the Board of Regents. I hope you will, too.
